Local search is a different competition
National SEO is a fight against every site on the internet. Local search is a fight against the twenty businesses in your area that do the same thing you do, and Google decides it on three factors nobody outside the industry talks about: relevance, distance and prominence. Relevance is how well your profile matches the search. Distance is where the searcher is standing. Prominence is how well known and well reviewed you are.
You cannot change distance. You can change the other two completely, and most local businesses have not touched either. Their Google Business Profile was created once, never filled in, has four reviews and no photos since 2022. That is the whole opportunity: the bar in most cities is on the floor, and clearing it takes weeks rather than years.
The short version
Fill the Google Business Profile properly, get consistent listings everywhere your name appears, build a steady flow of real reviews, publish a page for every service in every area you serve, and answer the phone. Most competitors will not do all five.
What the work covers
Six areas, run in this order because each one makes the next work better.
The Google Business Profile, properly
This single listing decides most of your local visibility, and it has more fields than almost anyone fills in. Here is the checklist we work through.
Primary category
The single biggest lever in the whole profile. Wrong category means invisible for the searches that matter, no matter what else you fix.
Secondary categories
Every additional service you genuinely offer, added without stuffing categories you do not actually provide.
Services list
Each service entered separately with its own description. Most profiles leave this section completely empty.
Photos and video
Exterior, interior, team, products and work in progress. Profiles with regular new photos get noticeably more views and direction requests.
Hours and holidays
Including special hours for Eid and public holidays. Wrong hours produce angry reviews and Google downranks profiles users report as inaccurate.
Q&A section
You can post and answer your own questions. Seed the ones customers ask on the phone every week.
Posts
Weekly updates, offers and events. Fresh posts signal an active business and appear directly in your listing.
Messaging
Turned on and actually monitored. Slow replies here count against you and lose the customer anyway.
Products and booking
Product listings and appointment links where the category supports them, turning a listing into a conversion point.
Reviews are the ranking factor you control
Rating, count, recency and keywords inside the review text all feed the map pack. A business with sixty reviews averaging 4.6, with new ones arriving every week, beats one with twelve reviews from three years ago even if the twelve are all five stars. Freshness matters as much as the average.
We build a system rather than a campaign: a short link and QR code your staff hand out at the point of sale, a WhatsApp follow-up message timed to when the customer is happiest, a reply written for every review including the bad ones, and a monthly count you can watch move. Never bought, never faked, Google detects review fraud and the penalty removes every review you have, real ones included.
What we set up
Short review link and printed QR code, a request message your team can send in one tap, timing guidance for when to ask, and a reply template set so responses go out within a day.
Handling bad reviews
A calm public reply and a private fix. A visible one-star with a good response reads better to buyers than a suspiciously perfect five-star average, and Google will only remove reviews that break its policies.
Citations and NAP consistency
NAP means name, address and phone number. Every place those three appear online is a citation, and Google cross-references them to decide whether your business is really where you say it is. One old listing with a previous phone number quietly weakens everything else.
Service and area pages
The map pack is only half of local search. Below it sit the ordinary blue links, and those are won with pages on your own site. One page per service, and where the business genuinely serves multiple areas, one page per service per area, each with real content about that area, not the same paragraph with the town name swapped.
Doorway pages, meaning fifty near-identical pages for fifty towns you have never visited, are against Google's guidelines and get filtered out. We build pages for areas you actually serve, and we say no when the list gets unrealistic.
How the engagement runs
What we report
Local SEO has one honest measure: did more people contact you. Everything else explains that number.
Calls from Google
Taps on the call button in your listing. The number that matters most, tracked directly in the profile.
Direction requests
People asking Google how to reach you, the closest thing to a measured walk-in.
Map pack position
Where you sit for your main keywords, checked from several points across your service area rather than from one office.
Review count and rating
New reviews per month, the running average, and how quickly replies go out.
Profile views and searches
How many people saw you, split between those searching your name and those searching your service.
Website clicks
Traffic from the listing to your site, and what those visitors did once they arrived.
Honest timelines
Local SEO moves faster than national SEO because the competition is smaller. In a smaller city where competitors have neglected their profiles, results come sooner than they would in a saturated metro like London or Dubai.
Who this is for
Worth doing
Clinics, salons, gyms, restaurants, repair shops, property dealers, tutors, marriage halls, car workshops, plumbers and electricians, any business where the customer is nearby and ready to act. If you have a physical address or a defined service area, this is the highest-return marketing you can do.
Not the right fit
Online-only stores shipping nationwide, SaaS products, and businesses with no physical presence or service area. Those need eCommerce or national SEO instead, and we will tell you that on the call rather than sell you the wrong service.
Questions local businesses ask
I do not have a shop, I visit customers. Does this still work?
Yes. Google supports service-area businesses: you hide the address and define the areas you cover instead. Plumbers, electricians, tutors and mobile services all rank this way. The rest of the work is identical.
Someone else created my Google listing and I cannot log in.
Common, and fixable. Google has a claim-and-verify process for exactly this, usually by postcard or phone. We handle the request and the follow-up. It takes a few weeks but you end up owning the listing permanently.
Can you just buy reviews to speed this up?
No, and you should refuse anyone who offers. Google detects review fraud and the penalty strips every review from your profile, including the genuine ones, sometimes with the listing suspended. We build a system that earns real reviews instead, slower for a month, permanent after that.
How is this different from the SEO on my website?
Website SEO ranks pages in the blue links. Local SEO ranks your business in the map pack, which sits above them and is driven by your Business Profile, reviews and citations rather than your pages. Most local businesses need both, and this is the one that pays back first.
We have one bad review that is hurting us.
A single one-star among healthy reviews barely affects rankings, and a calm public reply often reads better than a perfect record. If it breaks Google policy, fake, abusive, or from a competitor. We file for removal. Otherwise the fix is simply more real reviews, which push it down.
Do you handle businesses outside Hafizabad?
Yes, across Punjab and beyond. The work is remote apart from photography, and rank checks are done from points inside your actual service area rather than from our office.
How many area pages should we have?
Only for areas you genuinely serve and can write honestly about. Fifty near-identical pages for towns you have never visited are doorway pages under Google guidelines and get filtered out. Five real ones beat fifty thin ones.
What does it cost?
It depends on how many locations you have, how many areas you serve and the state of the citations. The audit is free and comes with a scoped quote, so you see the number before deciding.
