The brief
What the salon needed
A site that works in the waiting room
Most people looking for a laser or beauty appointment in Wimbledon are on a phone. The site had to load quickly on mobile data and put treatment prices and a booking path within reach from any page, not just the home page.
Two locations, one clear menu
Izba Spa runs two addresses in Wimbledon. Both needed their own presence without splitting the treatment menu into two competing versions of the same information.
Readable by search engines
An independent salon competes with chains and directory listings. Clean markup, correct headings and a complete set of page metadata are what allow a small site to appear on its own terms rather than through an aggregator.
The build
What we built
Treatment menu with prices
The full treatment list with prices published on the page rather than hidden behind an enquiry form. Vouchers sit alongside it so a gift purchase is one step, not a phone call.
A booking path from every page
The booking action is reachable from anywhere on the site, so a visitor who lands on a single treatment page does not have to navigate back to the home page to act.
Performance budget kept
Images compressed and sized, render-blocking work reduced, and fonts loaded so text appears early. That is what holds a 96 desktop performance score on a live commercial site rather than a staging build.
Technical SEO in place
Titles, descriptions, canonical URLs, heading order, image alt text and structured data covered across the site. Lighthouse returns 100 for SEO on both desktop and mobile as a result.
The result
Lighthouse, on the live domain
Audited on izbaspa.co.uk after launch. Scores are from Google Lighthouse, run on the live site rather than a local build.
Takeaway
What this means for a local business
Technical quality is the cheap part
None of the above required a bigger budget. It required the build to be done in the right order: content structure first, then markup, then performance, then the extras. Retrofitting any of it onto a finished site costs more than doing it first.
The mobile score is the honest one
A desktop score of 96 is comfortable. The 84 on mobile is the number that reflects what a customer on 4G actually experiences, and it is the one we keep working on after launch.
Prices on the page win enquiries
Publishing the treatment menu with prices reduces the number of people who bounce to a competitor to find out what something costs. It also gives search engines and AI assistants something concrete to quote.
